Getting the used focus stone will require some instruction by a Sage. Who is in the third world. Past the wraith. And some other things. That can all be killed by a sword, eventually.
Go jump back in the portal and take the wraith out, then the dragon. Killing the dragon is difficult and annoying, but the payoff to getting past him is worth it. Really. (Feel free to post again if you need help with that annoying fight.)
