And now for something completely serious. posted by Howard on Saturday, October 30, 1999, at 18:38:31:
Ok, of all those signs I think that I know one that's stupider. In the city that I live in, Edmonton, Alberta, every single crash along the side of the highway is marked by a 'Fatality' sign in big, silver letters on a black strip on a silver petagon-like shape, often with fake flowers around them. Now, the thing is that there have been a LOT of fatilities along the highway so there are a LOT of signs, and I get the feeling that the city is trying to make visitors fell unwelcome or something. I mean, EVERY SINGLE TIME that you go down the main freeway, you get depressed by all the people who have died (Causing some to look at the signs rather then the road and crash themselves). Now, how mobid is the city trying to be anyway?
