People like that can be very encouraging. My grandfather was still hiking at 95, but he slowed down a little before he died at 97.

These days I watch in amazement as my wife's mother, who is going to be 90 in a couple of months, mows grass, grows a garden, and keeps up a three bedroom house. She lives alone, but her son is just across the highway. We visit her about twice a month and she wants to go grocery shopping, out to eat, and visiting her friends who are all too old to get out. She loves Chinese and Mexican food but her favorite is pizza. I expect her to live to be 100.
