> Wow! That was the first thing I thought when I saw this little corner of his life. Beasty (or Andy, or Boomer) had a huge life and has obviously touched so many hearts out there along the way. > > I was lucky to have known Beast for a while and he was a regular participant in our Saturday night gaming sessions here in the UK. Every week, work permitting, he used to turn up here at my house every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Most of the time, this hard working blighter never left until the early hours of the morning on numerous occasions sitting here until gone 4am just tinkering on his PC or (probably) chatting with you guys! > > We can be grateful of one aspect of Beasty's illness. The decline was swift and without much pain. He was chatting away to me on the phone on Friday, worrying if his PC would survive a scandisk. On Saturday he was doing a Role Playing (D&D type thingy) at his parents house whith his university friends. By Sunday he was admitted to hospital and in the early hours of Wednesday, he was so tragically taken from us. I am truly priveleged to have met his father when two friends and I paid a visit to him in hospital on the Tuesday night, just a few short hours before he passed away. > > It is testament to all us all that he lived a full and exciting life. He took part in scuba-diving, amateur dramatics, role playing, on line gaming, swimming, bowling and many other pursuits over the years. He was also a proud blood donor - and for that he must have saved many lives. The best thing he ever did, though, was to walk into each and every one of our lives. > > This Saturday, our Gaming group will be playing a round of Call of Duty and one of Unreal Tournament in his honour. To reflect the reason why he was part of our lives. He enjoyed his Saturday gaming nights and it is a fitting way to say farewell. > > Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew him. > > He was a true gent - gentle, humble and kind. I had the honour of calling Andy a friend. We were both working in the City, and every so often, we'd meet up for a drink, and hang out. We went to see the Reduced Shakespeare Company together about 4 times. He was honestly one of the nicest and most real people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He meant a lot to me, as he did to everyone here, and no doubt everyone he came into contact with.
My thoughts are with his family and friends. I can only imagine how hard his passing is for those who knew him better than I did.
Requescat in Pace, Beasty. You will be missed by all who knew you.
