I had the pleasure of meeting Beasty twice. The first time on my visit to England, when he, wintermute, Matthew, and I went on a quick walking tour of the part of London we happened to be in, with me dragging my suitcase along the whole way (having just gotten in that day). The second time was at RU3, when he shared a room with me and several other people. Both times were wonderful experiences.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of his loss. Like everyone else, I was so sure he would pull through. He deserved to, and it's not fair that he didn't.

In the past few months, he had been finding time to come into RinkChat for short periods and keep us informed on his situation. I wish now that I had said more to him on those occasions, but I think he knew that I was his friend and I cared for him.

I'll miss you, Beasty.
