The university I go to is a good one all-around, but "techie" subjects are huge. I definitely get flak for being an English major from all sorts of people. And my parents (both scientists), though they want me to be happy, are also concerned about what I'm doing with my life. Maybe it's just the particular people with whom I associate, or maybe I'm hypersensitive because I'm taking a course on stereotype and we've been discussing academic stereotypes a lot...
