ESM: Smelly Artist

I can't figure out how to make the loser smell like an artist. I've done the beard, the hair and the glasses but I can't figure out what to do next. I have:

Beaker
Chain
Eraser
Mirror
Soldering Iron

Blue Paint
Chalk
Glue Stick
Mrs. Pinto's CD

Bottle Cap
Demerit
Knock-Out Drops
Perma-Tie

CD Player
Earthworm Sample
Lighter
Scalpel

Another thing I can't figure out is how to sharpen the scalpel. I'm sure I'm on the right track but I can't figure out how to make it go a little faster. I also can't seem to find the physics lab.
