I have no idea how I missed this thread originally, but I think it is worth pointing out that not everyone in the Gaede family is like this. The patriarch of that family, Bill Gaede, is infamous around here--he lives just about 45 minutes from me--and is truly crazy. He's been struck by lightning twice. The folks I know who know him say he never subscribed to this sort of hate philosophy before the second strike. Unfortunately, he raised his daughters April and Melody in that kind of hate atmosphere.

Now, Melody's no gem, but she doesn't share her father's extreme perspective like April does, and neither does her stepdaughter (whom she raised from a very young age) Shawna. Shawna's a sweetheart; she used to be in my Scout unit and is very committed to community service and helping others.

I guess what I'm trying to say in a roundabout sort of way is that there is still hope that these young girls will wake up one day and realize the abominations they stand for now. In fact, that whole family could use your prayers.
