I have no idea if you can hotwire it without the instructions.
Then again, given the way some of the puzzles in this game
work, I wouldn't be surprised if the game wouldn't let you
hotwire the truck without getting the instructions. Not to
mention if you didn't vandalize the vending machine in the past
before making your escape, wouldn't that be a bit of a paradox
(since it's what brought your getaway vehicle here in the first
place)?
Try to see if the game will let you do it. I'm genuinely curious
now.
