FantasyQuest - stuck in Forest

I'm stuck in the Enchanted Forest. Here's what I see:
A strange force prevents you from travelling to the east. Uh oh! The forest has you in its clutches!

Here's my inventory:
Sack
Branch
Shovel
Bow

Gold Piece
Silver Key
Hammer
Arrow

Rope
Diamond
Nails
Club

Am I missing something that could get me out, or am I really stuck?
