He does say "I wonder what's on TV" during one of his father's camping trips, when he and Hobbes are staring at a gorgeous sunset over a lake, now that I recall.

During the strip I was referring to, he talks about the culmination of generations etc., say "What do we do now?", and go watch Looney Tunes.
