FQ I stuck--gnome?

I've discovered the two castles, the fortress, gone through the
garden, and climbed a volcano, and now I have no idea where to
go. I know I'm supposed to give the smelly trout to a gnome, but
all I've found so far is a burly dwarf.

My inventory:

Sack
Carrot (yes, I've fed both the unicorn and the rabbit and they've
both been very helpful)
Rope
Hook
Branch (came in very handy in making ashes)
Silver Key
Gold Key
Sword
Shovel
Hammer
Nails
Bow
Arrow
Fishing Pole
Fish
Club
Ticket
Sunstone
Leaves
