It actually doesn't matter what order you solder and twist in, as long as you reach a point, somehow, where the correct two wires are soldered and the correct two wires are twisted. So it's a matter of soldering and unsoldering, twisting and untwisting, until you've had the truck in all the possible states that fit the instructions.
