Unlike my house, which doesn't have a basement door large enough for car, this house has a 9 ft. wide garage door into the basement. My son-in-law also keeps his truck in there along with some antique motorcycles.

Keeping vehicles indoors is something of a fire hazard. I keep motorscooters in my shop under the sunroom, but I have smoke detectors upstairs and down that are wired together. If one goes off they all go off. I also keep fire extinguishers handy. There is little fire danger from scooters without batteries, but about half of mine carry a battery. I often park those in the garage which is not attached to the house, but right now there are three of them in the shop.

Actually, that Volkswagen really is a low-mileage car. It has less than half the miles on our Toyota.
