It's past 9 a.m. on Christmas morning and, around here, it is quiet. The kids and their kids are all having Christmas at home and they will begin to drift in about 11 o'clock. They know what is going on in Grandma's kitchen.

We got a White Christmas, sort of, if you count fog. It's raining and the temperature is about 10 degrees F above freezing.

I got some socks and other stuff, but most of the presents will be opened when the more recent generations arrive. In the mean time, I have been reading the paper and checking the email.

New Years weekend may be a little busyier With the anniversary party coming up. We are expecting guests from as far away as California and Texas and we are still holding out hopes that some of the New England relatives will be here.

We will celebrate Richard Nixon's birthday* by boarding a cruise ship at Port Canaveral, Florida.

*Jan. 9 is also WMM birthday, but I can't mention her age. However, with four kids who are all in their 40's, how young can she be?
