Actually, the 1990's were not that long ago. The technology is changing so fast it makes it seem that way, but a long time ago is back when your car had breaker points and a carburetor. Or back when "fruit" meant apples, peaches, oranges and bananas. Kiwi had not been invented yet. And the whole family shared one phone. The phone company owned the darned thing and would not supply a cord long enough to allow you to call from your car.

In the 1990's, calculating with a pencil had already become obselete, and the house was air conditioned and heated so that the temperature was constant all year around.

A long time ago, airplanes had propellers and flight attendants were called "stewardesses." No self-respecting actress would ever have called herself an "actor."

In the 1990's a computer was no longer a house-sized calculator owned by the government and used only to determine the national debt. A few were even in classrooms, and sometimes there were people present who knew how to "boot up."

In the 90's somebody figured out that timer contolled traffic lights were not doing a very good job, and so they assigned the task to a computer.

A long time ago, the United States never started wars. We just finished them. By the time the 1990's came along, it was OK to start them but never finish them.

But I guess the 1990's seem like a long time ago when you consider that back then it was OK to say "Merry Christmas" no matter what your religion was, or even if you had no religion at all.
