In the news, there are stories about General Motors and their record layoffs. This usually indicates that a company is in trouble. My guess is that people got tired of buying poorly designed, sloppily built, unreliable cars that don't last as well as the competition.

I wonder if the big GM brass are all strapping on their golden parachutes?
