Going to waist

I hate for that old suit to go to waste, but it has a few moth holes in it. The waist is 28 inches, but my waist has been going to waste over the last 50 years and I don't think I can fit into it. I think my waist went to 40 or 41 inches at one time, but has since wasted down to 36. That's still too much for a wedding suit with a 28 inch waste. Judging by the patches on the pockets, I got my use out of it. I can even see a few threadbare places on the sleeves that I can't blame on the moths.

The wedding suit and the wedding dress have always been stored in the cedar chest to protect them from the moths. Didn't work. But the dress was OK. I don't suppose wedding dresses are made of wool, or anything else that is tasty to a moth. I can't say much about it, but I think the dress has some waist problems too.

Bottom line is that we are going to have to go to the anniversary party dressed in 21st century clothes. I wonder if it will be too cold for a Cushman tee shirt?
