They said the fall colors in this area would not be very good this year because of dry weather. They missed the boat on that one. We just spent a couple of days in Gatlinburg (Gateway to the Smokies) and the colors are breath-taking.

The weather was very nice. It was hard to believe that in November, in the mountains, we didn't even need sweaters.

The traffic in Pigeon Forge was horrible on the way home, but I know my way along the back streets and was able to avoid the worst of it.
