This is sort of a combined reponse to this and Howard's response to Food Memory. My Grandfather was diabetic like Howard. I would try to find things like sugar free or no sugar added pies and cookies for him. When he was first diagnosed, there wasn't much like that, but the last few years of his life, Walmart could be counted on to have something good that he could eat. When he died a few years ago, I was surprised--for 2 or 3 weeks, one of the things I missed most was buying things like that for him. I guess it just goes to show that people's memories are odd things.
