Without changing the subject too much, I'd like to spout off on one of my pet peeves. We have a lot of 15 mph school zones, not that anybody walks to school anymore. Some of them are in the middle of a 45 or 50 mph zone, and they have the little "when children are present" sign or in some cased a "when flashing" light.

The trouble is that there are a number of days in the school year when the schools are closed and the lights just keep flashing. That means that some people think the speed limit is 45 and the rest think it is 15. That is an extremely dangerous sitution. Couldn't somebody flip a switch?

As for the "when children are present," how are you going to know? I hate peeping in the windows, and I don't have time to go in and call the roll, so I slow down and risk being run over by someone who knows the schedule and is aware that there are no kids in the school.

And would it kill the politicians to order a sign that shows where the school zone ends? Sometimes it's hard to tell.
Howard
