If you have a Pentium System, even an older one, you should have a place in the CMOS to control the printer port. It may not have an ECP/EPP setting, but at very least it should have a ENABLE/DISABLE toggle. If the printer port is on a peripheral add-on card instead of integrated into the system board then all the resources are controlled by jumpers on the card and resetting the CMOS to defaults probably wouldn't have caused a conflict anyway. In which case I'd just have the port tested to see if it still works, or to at least find out what the settings on the card are so you can see if the resources are being taken by something else. And I agree with WolfSpirit about writing settings down. If you don't mess with these settings on a regular basis it can be very confusing to try to remember where they were set if you ever need to redo something.
