I don't like the looks of this.

I've been waking up early for the last couple of weeks and I've noticed something disturbing. Daylight was arriving at about seven, which is late enough, but here lately it has been 7:15 or 7:30. What's worse, it was daylight until well after seven in the evening for a while and here lately, darkness had been arriving before seven.
This can mean only one thing; winter is coming. Now that wouldn't be so bad if you were a penguin, or a polar bear, or a snowman or something like that, but I am a tropical creature with aching joints and not much insulation on the top of my head. I keep hearing rumors about how much more it is going to cost to keep the house warm this year, and that gives me chills. No pun intended.
But prior to winter, we will have a little fall color, and some nice days to be outside. The mosquitoes will soon be gone and the snakes will crawl into a hole until spring. We will have some nice holidays and maybe even nice weather to celebrate. The hurricane season will be over soon, and if my federal loan comes through maybe I can get a tank of gas and drive down south to a beach somewhere.
Maybe winter will confine me to my shop where I can get a few projects finished.
Overall, I don't look forward to winter, so I guess I need to enjoy the next few weeks, no matter how short the days are. Howard
