The story itself sure seemed like an urban legend, but I couldn't figure out how it could have hit the mainstream press with so many verifiable facts about it. Not that I trust the press to get things right all the time, but this is such a crazy yet trivially verifiable story that I cannot for the life of me figure out how it got onto Reuters.
