Well, I work there (and thereabouts) evenings and weekends. I'm on one of the RNZ Coastguard search and rescue boats. I have a nice normal day job like anybody else, but I spend my spare time doing what I guess you might call exciting things. Sometimes it's exciting, sometimes I wish it wasn't. But it's always interesting.

Oh yes, Hawaii! I've been there and it *is* perfect. Wow. The weather can be pretty impressive here too, but unfortunately we can't seem to persuade the great boating public to have their emergencies on nice, calm days ... them's the breaks though.
