Trail of Anguish rat possible spoiler

Hi, I'm having trouble with the *&#@# rat in the store room.
I've tried to get at it from all directions so that I can take it to the south of the room where the gap in the crates is, but there seems it always goes to the north when I drive it to the middle of the room. Am I doing sth wrong, or do I just have to keep doing it over and over again... I could use a hand cause this is getting frustrating.
