Burger toppings

I like a small slice of ham on top of my burgers. I call that a ham burger.
Sometimes I put a slice of tomato on top and call it a tomato burger.
Veggie burgers are good with a ground beef patty on top. Otherwise, they are just a soy-squash burger.
The Hiawaiian burger has a slice of pineapple on it. Resist the urge to put canned pineapple on it. The fresh stuff is better. However, I must concede that the hole in a slice of canned pineapple will hold a lot of mustard and/or ketchup.
Frankburgers are just sliced hot dogs on a round bun, but you have to use whatever you have.
I sometime subsitute on my hamburgers. Instead of using a ground beef patty, I just cook the meat loose with a little chili powder and such. Then I smother it with salsa and pica de gallo, wrap it in a tortilla, smear it with sour cream and smashed avacado with a little tomato and cilantro mixed in, and sprinkle it with finely chopped lettuce and white onion. It makes a fine hamburger. If you want a cheeseburger, just melt some white cheese with a touch of hot pepper and pour that on top. Corn chips are better with that, so lose the chips or fries. Howard
