Doesn't anybody ever sleep anymore? Gatlinburg, not far from here, had a 4th of July parade beginning at 12:00 midnight on the 3rd, just so they could say they had the first parade of the holiday.

And at Daytona beach, rain delays caused the race to begin at 11:00 p.m. and go until 1:40 in the morning. How did the drivers and fans stay awake? I gave it up about 12:15 and went to bed. I'll bet they lost half of the TV audience before it was over. Sponsors could not be happy about that.

Fireworks go late into the night here, but they don't keep me awake.
