fuzzy, and newspapers

"Get Fuzzy" is a different kind of comic strip. I don't always get the joke, but when I do, it's funny. The main character has unruly hair, and two talking pets. One is a Siamese cat with an attitude and the other is a simpleton dog. It runs daily in the Knoxville News Sentinel in full color.
And that brings up something else. I read daily papers in Atlanta, Nashville, Murfreesboro,(TN)and Knoxville on a fairly regular basis. I also read papers from other cities from time to time. So far, Knoxville is the only place where I find daily comics in color. I'm still looking.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution has a column called "The Vent," where readers send in wise cracks. I suppose many are sent but few are chosen. So those few are sometimes really funny. They tend to bash Yankees, politicians, rednecks and just about everybody, so don't read it if you are sensitive. It is available online.
Speaking of newspapers, the Daily News Journal in Murfressboro is where I worked as a college student about half a century ago. As the town has grown, so has the paper. When the town was 12,000 people, the paper was usually about 8 pages. But the town has grown to near 80,000 and the paper is several sections. It's probably one of the top six or eight papers in the state. It's still in the same building, but I doubt that anybody I worked with is still there. Howard
