What do you think? 781 hit points. 237 damage.

Not only was a hit of 237 damage not sufficient by itself to singlehandedly kill him, it *didn't* singlehandedly kill him. The game is based entirely on mathematics. 781 minus 237 equals not dead. Obviously you missed one or more other hits that also did damage to Murkon.
