Han Solo was a smuggler, not a bounty hunter. He had bounty hunters *after* him, but that's not quite the same thing. And of course by the time *we* get to know him, he ends up giving up the whole smuggling thing in favor of becoming a revolutionary and eventually a general, taking orders from High Command.
