Throwing the rope does nothing because there's no way for the rope to hook onto the upper trapdoor.

There's something pretty and shiny and purple in the garden that you could use to buy a hook with. Go look.

(looks at inventory) ...And you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Did you know that if you bribe a unicorn with a crunchy orange snack, it'll stand still long enough for you to ride it?
