Finger Biting Monkey - possible spoilers

This is driving me insane. Am I supposed to feed it my bread because all its doing is biting me, and I don't get the option: somehow I can't imagine another monkey running around in the desert :/

Powder
Cabbage

Wood
Feather
Jerky
Bread
