Recreational programming is something I've always wanted to try, having sampled several different rpg type games (Muds, dice, lifegame, etc.) and this will at least give me something to play with.

You might find the link below useful. It's a guide Sam made on designing your own adventure game, and it's worth reading whether ot not you plan to use Smash or not, as the principles are the same. Hope it helps!
