If she decides to play, we have to go back to the store and buy another damn copy of the game just to get another key--there's no way she can just install from my discs and pay for the key online. It's not the money I care about so much as the retarded idea that you can give someone a 10-day trial where you're EXPECTED to share CDs with them, but at the end of that they can't just whip out their credit card and tell Blizzard "Ok, lemme buy the full version now."
I had to go through that myself, when Mina decided to play, too. So I own two full boxed copies of the game, two sets of discs, and two copies of the Blizzard Edition of the Book of Lies. It didn't sem any more sensible to me, either, and I made some comment about how it would be a better system to sell new keys on the INTARWWWEB for thirty bucks or so. If they charged the full fifty, I probably WOULD go out and buy a new copy instead, just because I tend to feel that I'm getting more for my money that way. Which is stupid, but, hey, there are no fewer than three places in the mall where my restaurant is that I can pick up a copy of WOW, so I'm not exactly going out of my way. :-}
On a similar note, did you spot the line in the licence agreement where it says that you're not allowed to let anyone else use your account for any reason? The only exception is one minor child, since they're not allowed to have their own accounts. So, according to the licence agreement, when Mina wanted to try the game out, I HAD to create an account for her (and the account creation system works SOME but not ALL of the time) rather than just letting her tool around with one of my characters and get a feel for things.
