And at what point do you stop referring to Africa? How many generations back? How mixed can your blood be? What if your line went from Africa to the Dominican Republic or Brazil hundreds of years ago and now you are in America? I can't really speak for them but I have a feeling they would want to be considered Brazilian or Dominican before African. Or just American, if they are citizens.

But, you are correct, to each his own.
