I used to write headlines for the inside pages of the newspaper where Willette and I worked when we got married. I think the proposal was in my '46 Ford, but I gave her the ring in the storeroom where they kept file copies of the paper in big, flat books. You would think after 50 years, I might stop thinking in headlines.
