MV Level 7 Problem (SPOILERS)

I encountered one of the 20 parties, and they used a teleport stone immediately. The problem is, they teleported into a completely blocked off area! (one square large area, with walls on all 8 adjacent squares, none of them moveable. Am I going to have to restart the entire level, just because they picked a lousy destination point? Please tell me this isn't so, as this is a definite game-killer (unreachable parties, causing a lot of backtracking)
