freckles, green blooms and things

I spent much of today in my driveway. I noticed that my truck had freckles. So I washed the truck, but they didn't come off. Black specks of mildew on a white truck show up very well then the truck is otherwise clean. I tried Windex with limited success. Diluted bleach worked a little better, but I worried about what it would do to the paint. I'm afraid that if I do manage to get it looking good, it will still be a ten-year-old truck.

There is a tulip poplar tree next to the drive way and all day long it dropped blooms. This tree is rather large and those big bloom make a distinct "plop" when they fall 100 feet and land on concrete. I think those are the only green flowers that I ever saw. Except for a small orange accent at the base of the petals, they are all green. They look like a tulip that isn't ripe yet. Back when the lumber business was booming in these parts, the tulip poplar brought so much money into Tennessee they made it the state tree.

I am into my second week without a lawn mower and the grass is soon going to be knee high. I am waiting for the shop to call.

I still can't get the channel that will show the race from Darlington. This is the 4th week of watching it on a 5 inch black and white. If anybody sees my satellite guy, send him this way. Cable is looking better all the time. Why do people say they will call when they know they won't?

I'd tell you who is going to win that race, but every single time I predict a winner, he loses. And I really want him to win that race.
