I love Jelly Bellies (except that horrid Popcorn flavor and maybe one or two others I can't recall), but, in general, hate jelly beans. Jelly Bellies have a sharper, truer taste, better texture, and have flavoring on both the inside AND the coating, whereas most jelly beans and other candies only put flavor on the outside. > > > > You make a good point, though -- Jelly Belly makes some pretty outrageous and tasty flavors. > > Mmm. Jelly Bellies are about the only sugar-coated candy that I can honestly say is *enjoyable*, because each one is small enough to give your mouth a brief explosion of flavor-flavor...oops, wrong commercial. > > Er...Hey. I'm desperately trying to remember whether the 'Buttered Popcorn' Jelly Bellies are my favorite flavour, or whether it's the Cream Soda ones. I think it's the slightly off-white, off-yellow white ones with white snowflake spots on them. I like them because I fancy they're a teensy bit salty, which gives good contrast to the other flavours. The other one I sometimes enjoy are the Jalopeņo jellies because they're a little... hot. The only problem with those is they are also metallic-tasting like real Jalopeņos (ugh). > > Wolf "And just why *aren't* there any tasty Jamaican 'Scotch Bonnet' pepperhot Jelly Bellies?"
I can't remember what the Cream Soda ones look like, but the Buttered Popcorn ones are white with yellow patches. I should know...I had quite a few at lunch today. I always keep a jar stocked at home and after writing about them, well I just had to have some.
And the fact that they rhyme with my name is just a coincedence. Either that, or I was born to eat Jelly Bellies!
Kel"still hate the black licorice flavor"ly
