Ok, there are three posts on this, so I'll answer on the first one.

I don't actually know how far you are in the game. The next town is on level 4. To get to it, you have to get to level four, and go all the way through it, until you get the key. Then the door is near the level 4 entrance. For more specific help getting to level four, tell us where you've got to.
