Outlaws- Barn Gorillas & My Gun/Game glitch??

Hi Can someone please help me. I'm trapped in a cow barn and can't escape those big apes or their girl-friend and to top it off I seem to have lost my gun somewhere. Is losing one's own gun usual or something wrong with my game? Plus, how on earth to I get it back if I need it to get out of this barn? Here's my inventory:
26 Dollars
/ / / Altar Cloth
/ / / Key
/ / / Map
/ / / Matches
/ / / Hat Pin
/ / / Playing Cards
/ / / Spittoon
/ / / Wood
/ / / Feather
/ / / Cord
