FQ1--literally stuck by 3 stones

I'm currently in the garden, and I've made my way past where the lion is to a place where there are three large stones. The game tells me I can pick the dandelions, splash in a nearby mud puddle, take the stones, or go N, S, E, or W. In reality, I can't go anywhere--the game returns to this same screen no matter which direction I pick. It won't let me pick the dandelions or take the stones. I can splash in the water, but I only get a little slimy. I've tried doing everything immediately after getting slimy, but this doesn't work. Help, please!
