I find that minesweeper times vary significantly from computer to computer. I think some computers count time faster than others. There's also the mouse quality factor that Howard mentioned.

On one of my former computers, I got my best Expert time down to the high 90s, but at the time I couldn't do better than about 140 on some other computers. I was much faster when I didn't mark the mines.

Once I realized that pretty much every Expert game requires a wild guess at some stage (I think I only finished about 5 without having to guess), I moved on to harder stuff, i.e. freecell.
