Wow, lots of people stuck on this game!

I can't rember where it is, but you need to get the pail. I remember there was an amusing comment accompanying the getting of the pail, but that's a different story.

Once you have the pail, there's some other creature you have to talk to (can't remember what it is, think it's a goblin). I'm not quite sure how it happens, but you should get your rope.
