I'm not sure whether you mean into the outpost (over the wall) or into the building inside the wall. If it's the first, you'll need to go back and get a certain item to get a boost. If you mean the second, I think you actually need to try to leave the outpost (after listening) for your character to get the motivation to enter the building.
