I'm not sure that would be living. I'm a tropical animal. I think it got into me when I was in my mid-teens and we lived in St. Lucie County, Florida. That was about 1950 before the area was blown apart by the population explosion. The climate there is such that winter lasts two or three weeks and 45 degrees F is considered bitterly cold. I think it made it into the upper 30's once in the three years we were down there. Nothing was air conditioned in those days, but I don't remember being bothered by the heat. There was always a breeze.

Believe it or not, we had 24 below zero here in East Tennessee one time. I try not to think of that in terms of Celcius degrees. I bundled up and went outside once to see what it was like. It surprized me that 20 above and 20 below were not that different. On the other end of the scale, there is a whale of a difference between 70 and 110.

Our weather changes too much for me. I prefer the Hawaiian climate where the Hi and Lo are usually within ten or 12 degrees F. But I'm not rich.
