I know this sounds stupid, but I had a real problem with the current poll question. I don't think the correct answer was there. Should I just keep looking for "all of the above," or should I just check one of those incomplete answers?
And why is Stupid Day always celebrated on our younger daughter's birthday? She is 21 (twice) today. Is it not bad enough to have our older son born on April Fool's Day? And my wife born on Richard Nixon's birthday? How much of this stupidity am I expected to take?
Anyway, I am looking forward to the updates that will be posted on RinkWorks in honor of Stupid Day, 2005. It is already 2:37 in the afternoon, so I guess things will get stupid any minute now.
So far, I have accomplished a few stupidities today. I stuck a briar in my hand and jerked it back causing a minor puncture wound to morph into a long ugly scratch. Stupid. I was burning rose bush clippings along with some other sticks. At one point I picked up a stick to throw on the fire, only to discover that it was already on fire. Guess which end I got. Stupid.
Earlier in the day, I got into the truck and went to pick up an old exercise bike that had been given to me. I got lost and by the time I got home I had driven 40 miles, using about a gallon and a half of gas. It took almost two hours. The exercise bike was worth about $10, but only if it would work, which it won't. Stupid.
It's still early. What else? Howard
