outlaws - is this bloke just antisocial?

i can't ever get to talk to the boarder on my left at dinner. i've talked to the other two (button lady and piano man) but the one on the left is always busy talking to someone else, i've tried several times but it won't let me interrupt and then dinner gets served so i run out of tries.
