I don't know if it's the best way, but I usually use one of those fuzzy monitor screen cleaner thingies to brush the dust off and then a prepackaged lens cleaning wipe from Sam's Club. If you don't have one of those, try a soft cloth (like a piece of an old t-shirt, for example) and some lens cleaning solution (like you can buy at Lens Crafters or any other eyeglasses place).

I wouldn't use a glass cleaner (such as Windex) on any monitor screen. I think the chemicals in that stuff are too harsh.
